Here is the latest round of product updates for August 2020.
Double the Donation
Looking to boost your matching gift revenue? Our new integration with Double the Donation allows donors to find out if their employers will match their donations and how much their employers will match right in the Humanitru donation landing page. It also provides access to matching gift forms, guidelines, and instructions for a donor to submit matching gifts. To learn more about matching gifts, check out our Matching Gifts For Beginners: 5 Key Things to Know article. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager for more details on how to add this to your donation landing page!
Quarterly Giving Option
A quarterly recurring giving option is now available on your Humanitru donation landing page, making it easier for your donors to choose the right giving option for them.
Mailchimp + Constant Contact
Our integration with your favorite email marketing platform just got better. This enhanced integration will now allow Alpine to:
- Automatically sync full names, phone numbers, and tags to and from Mailchimp and Constant Contact
- Automatically sync subscriber statuses from Mailchimp or Constant Contact into Alpine
- Automatically record segments created in Alpine as tags
- Include secondary and tertiary email address fields in your email outreach campaigns when creating segments in Alpine
Saved Reports Dashboard Widget
We’ve added a new, convenient way for you to pin saved reports to your dashboard. You can also pin them to other user dashboards. From your dashboard, click on “Add Dashboard Widget” and select the “Saved Reports” widget. Now you’re ready to quickly access or share your favorite reports!
New Constituent Profile Fields
We added two new (and removed an old) profile fields. We removed the “Preferred Name” field and added an Email Salutation and Mailing Name field to constituent profiles. These new fields will help you define the proper email salutation and mailing salutations for outreach. Email Salutation will automatically default to the constituents first name unless you change it. Keep in mind, these can now be synced into Mailchimp or Constant Contact or used in the acknowledgments interface!
How to Household in Humanitru
Within Alpine, best practices advise that for each individual that your organization has a relationship with that you create a separate Constituent profile for. This allows you to track their giving history independently and correctly attribute gifts and other actions to on a constituent by constituent basis.
However, when preparing mailings, a common use case is to combine mailings for supporters to reduce extraneous mailings from being produced (e.g. households). Therefore, when preparing mailings within Alpine, the platform offers several options to “group” constituents by, with each “group” correlating with one piece of mailing.
The grouping options available in our Acknowledgment Interface include:
Do Not Group: This will prepare a mailing for each Constituent specified in the report
Group by Address: This will group Constituents sharing the same Address Base Field. This is not the recommended way to group, as this may result in Constituents who share almost the same address to be treated as separate addresses since the Address Base Field is not validated or standardized.
Group by Delivery Line 1, Delivery Line 2: This is the recommended way to group Constituents, as these fields are validated and standardized through our integration based off of the Address Base Field
Group by Mailing Name: This will group Constituents that share the same Mailing Name. This advanced option is recommended for users who wish to have granular control over exactly how their constituents would be grouped by, such as in the case of very specific householding.
Updating Donor Information
Sometimes a donor will use a new address or maybe they make a typo in spelling their name when donating or purchase a ticket through Humanitru. Alpine will now catch those discrepancies and auto-tag those instances under a new Tag Group called [System] Needs Review with tags of Possible Mismatch: Address or Possible Mismatch: Name. You can now use these tags to verify and update the information in a constituent profile.
Drop-in Volunteer Hours
This new feature, available in Evergreen, will allow you to set up an option for volunteers to “drop-in” and volunteer without the need to sign up for a specified volunteer opportunity. To enable this feature in Evergreen, simply select “Drop-In /Ad-Hoc” when creating a volunteer opportunity. The volunteer will need to create a login in order to use this feature. Once they show up on site they can check in/out and Evergreen will calculate their hours and log those hours in their profile in Alpine.
Google Tag Manager
You now have the ability to enhance the power of Google Analytics by using Google Tag Manager to insert snippets of code onto your Humanitru donation landing page. To learn more about Google Tag Manager, visit this Moz article. Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager to implement Google Tag Manager.
Soft Credits
Alpine now allows you to apply and track soft credits. View this video to learn more.
Batch Entry
You now have a convenient way to add actions in bulk! This is a great tool to use for the manual entry of large amounts of checks. You can also use this to apply volunteer hours to multiple profiles at once. Here is a quick video highlighting the new tool in Alpine.
